Error in Blogger

I found yet another Error iin Blogger Beta. While editing your Blog's layout let us say you click on the edit button on any of the Element of the page. You make some changes and save it. Then if you want to make more chenges in it then you have to refresh the page as the "edit" link goes once you have updated and saved it. Very frustrating I must say!

Error In Blogger

There is error that I found out in Blogger. Say you open the Dashboard and then go to New Post. Then you decide that you need some sleep you go to sleep and wake upu after an hour. Write the post adn publish it.
Now the problem is, the time for that post will not be when you published it, but when you actually opened the New Post page. I think this is specific to Blogger Beta, but I am not sure.

People dont change!!

Blogger.com was made by Evan in 1998, then he sold it to Google and went on in life. After that he made ODEO.com . Now there is a striking similarity in both Blogger's and ODEO's upload section.See it for your self -

This is the image that comes when images are being uploaded to Blogger.com

This is the image that come when Audio is being uploaded to ODEO.com

There is a striking resemblance between these to images as the owner of both the websites used to be same. Cool aint it?

Who has "prateek-myplace"??

As you would remember that earlier this blog used to have the URL http://prateek-myplace.blogspot.com. When I took this new domain(xortrox.blogspot.com) I thought that I would get the older domain as well and Edit its HTML to make a very simple redirector to the new URL using JavaScript. But when I started to register "prateek-myplace" again it told me that this domain is not available. That was impossible cause no one could have taken that particular domain in just 25 seconds. So, I thought that I will check out who has the URL now. And guess what. When I open it is my blog but with the old template and the last post is "Songs" in which I had posted the names of the songs or 2 Fast 2 Furious. I think this is the last post that I had put before switching to Blogger BETA. Now, no one except maybe the Blogger Server administrator has control on that blog. If you view my profile from that old blog you dont even see the CODE blog that I made a few days back that one can see on "xortrox"'s profile. I have no idea what I will do now. I cant even put a post on that blog that I have shifted or something. All my reader will go to that blog and will fine nothing. What should I do?

Strange comments from Strangers

If you would look at some of the very old posts of my blog closely you would see that people that I dont even know have left there comments on the blog. There is a shocking similarity that I have found in all of these comments. The comments have come on the following posts -

1. Another blog...boo hoo
2. My Music
3. What is Google Base?

All these comments seem to be very nice like -

"Great site lots of usefull infomation here"

"Your are Nice. And so is your site! Maybe you need some more pictures. Will return in the near future."

"Your website has useful information for beginners like me. "

All of these comments seem to be very nice, but one think was very strange. All these comments had links in the end, and the text for the link was ">>" in all of them. The website to which they have linked are -

1. http://jest.at/nachtclub_dortmund.html
2. http://ery.at/rimmel_london.html
3. http://ising.at/aktie_aktie_geld.html

Which open the same or very similar looking websites. Also, if you view these blogger's profile then you would notice that even though they have been on blogger since July 2006 there profile views are ranging from 1400 to 1600. None of them have put any personal information and when you click on the link for there blog it gives "Error:404" that is "Page not Found".

After seeing this information it is quite obvious that they are bots. But as there blogs are not opening they are totally not trying to earn more moneys on AdSense. There is no other personal information on there profile about there homepage or some email address. They seem to be bots with no purpose. That is very very strange.

Blogger in Beta

Blogger in Beta was released on 14 August. But I got a link to switch over to the new blogger yesterday, so here is a post about Blogger Beta.

Many people have been asking Blogger to add features onto Blogger. Features similar to that of WordPress. With the beta you can:

• Categorize your posts with labels

• Control who can read your blog

• Change the appearance and content of your blog with your mouse instead of HTML

Take a look at the tour to see all the new things you can do (well, a lot of the new things ... they didn't all fit in the tour).

Problem in Beta

There is a small problem in Blogger Beta. As one would remember that when, you make any changes in your settings or the template then there was a button to Republish the blog to see the changes in the blog. But now when you save the changes there is no such button to do so and it does not republish the blog automatically either. So the only way that you can see the changes is to -

• Make a new post and Publish it
• Click on Edit Post dont make any changes and Publish that post again

This is the only problem that I have seen till now on Blogger Beta. But apart from that Blogger Beta Rocks!!!

Happy B'Day Blogger

Happy B'Day Blogger.com. On 23rd August 1999, Pyra Labs launched Blogger, which Ev announced on his own blog. Check out the thumbnail of Blogger when it was really old.

From those humble roots, a bloggerish forest has grown. And a lot of what they continue to build today is informed by the philosophy of the original Pyra team.

As many of you would have noticed that a few days back the logo of Blogger had changed to a dog wearing a Birthday hat. That was in celebrations of Blogger's B'Day. It has completed 7 years and 1 human year= 7 dog years.

Keep It Up Blogger!!!!!!
