Open Source

I have started an Open Source Project on SourceForge.net. This is a JavaScript based Graphics Library that I will be making after my board exams. This is not like all other Graphics Library, as this one would allow you to make 3-D shaped such as bars and probably pyramids and will also allow you to add effect to the graphics that you are making. The effects that I will be including will be pretty simple such as a Gradient Effect and a Black and Whit effect etc.

about:blank

While trying to open my blog I got a very dirty error from the Google servers. So I decided to open the well know "about:blank" and then decided to try and open the blog again. Instead of writing "about:blank" I accidentally wrote "about:black". I was amazed when I saw the words "black" writeen in the window. So I opened the source code and checked out what was happening. The code was -

So I decided to fiddle a little more. I wrote down "about:" and the title of the window actually changed to "You are". So it was clear that it was executing any HTML code that I was writing there. It even executed stuff like H1 and MARQUEE. I think I will me able to execute STYLE as well. If yes then we might be able to make instantly loading static web pages that will take time only to load the images. Though they will only work on Internet Explorer probably version 6 only it would be great.

I am about to be OBSOLETE

I am currently running Windows XP on my PC. I was hoping that now that I have put XP(I used to have Win2k 14 days ago) I will have the latest OS and will be able to run all the new softwares that my processor will be able to support. But while I was browsing through the Microsoft website I saw that on 10^th October 2006 Windows XP which is not running Service Pack 2 will becom obsolete and the newsoftware releases will not run on WinXP.

I ask - Why this specific Date? Already all there new software like Windows Media Player 10 and Internet Explorer 7 though still in the BETA stage will only function in SP2. I am pretty sure that they will unBETAfy all these softwares on 11 or 10 October. Now I will have to find the Service Pack 2 CD from somewhere. Even though it is free if you want to get it from Microsoft itself you need to pay Rs.450 for shipping. I am pretty sure that by the time I wil get SP2 it too will become obsolete and everyone will start using Vista.

Ubuntu

I got 20 CD's of Ubuntu today. I already had one that I tried out and then I ordered 20 more so that I could distribute it in the computer club I am in. So here is the list of people who wouldbe getting the CD -
